What I will tell you about today is like impact AI on mental health. Yeah, and what do you think, like who think this AI, they're anxious about AI?
Can you raise your hand? Who's anxious? Oh, wow, very brave public, only five people.
And who is excited? Wow, I really love this.
And who have no emotions? One person. Yeah, I want to meet you after this.
So yeah, today we will talk about mental health and AI and it will be high level because organizers asked me to be high level, but I think it's very interesting topics and have a great impact on us.
So who am I? I'm Tatyana and I'm in AI field for 10 years.
Right now, and I see a lot of hypes and go ups and go downs. Yeah, also I was a double CEO in two AI companies.
The first company, it was AI assistant for sexing, so it was adult. Very interesting niche.
Thank you very much. I think we still need a lot of humans to succeed in our tasks.
Also, yes, I was responsible for optimizing support, but now we will talk about how AI generally affect our mental health in different aspects of our life.
But before we will talk about this, we will understand a little bit what's happening now. So what's happening now? You know all chat GPT, all generative models, so OpenAI release new generative model. What's the great thing about this?
It's learning according to human feedback, right? So model before that was learning supervisory, unsupervisedly but not according to human feedback. Here we have unsupervised model learning on all data, and then we have human feedback, and we have another reinforcement learning model.
1Now we have model with the human feedback and it absolutely changed the game, also with a lot of TPUs and GPUs from OpenAI. Now, AI is capable of everything. In every task, we get a feedback too.
So now, I can write code perfectly, write books, generate pictures via psychotherapy, answer to e-mails, etc. Of course, it's impact our life a lot.
So first of all, a lot of people think, okay, developerless work will be optimized. I'm a CEO, I'm okay. But people trying to make a company with ChatGPT, ChatGPT can type very good about concept of the company, who should I hire, etc. So AI capable of this.
Also, I can generate your user interface. There is a lot of application about this, can generate product concept, etc. And of course, it has a massive impact on our life.
Yes, because now people are not struggling about how to create a product. It's very fast. The challenge is now how to promote it to people, which changes perspective a lot.
So who has an AI startup or company? Please raise your hands. Who is struggling with product, creating product? Who is more challenged with attracting customers?
Right, so we can see, I think, 80 to 10%. So because creating products is so easy, yeah, marketing costs increases a lot.
For example, I was in the app industry, I think, for several years, and I witnessed this, like, in a tech stream, right? So the cost per acquisition passed, I think, seven years increase 10 times, something like this. Now, it's accelerating this trend.
So we need to be more creative, change. How is affect our mental health, our topic? First of all, it affects our life. So our life is changing.
There are some fears about it, some challenges. We need to be like a learning machine. So evolving all the time, learning all the time is a lot of stress maybe. and a lot of excitement at the same moment.
But also AI not only changed our lives and maybe keep some of us nervous, but it also help us with deal with symptoms of change in reality. So it's help us with psychotherapy. So who use AI as a psychotherapist? I tried it.
How was your experience? Amazing. Yeah. So, yeah.
And with ChartGPT also like all this stuff change in our experience of how we deal with stress and our feelings. But also what's most interesting and what we will talk in the end is that, for example, in my previous project, we created like artificial people with who real people was dating. Like they have artificial girlfriend, boyfriend, and AI now is not only a tool, it's a subject, right? And you can relate to this subject, experience emotions, and work to earn money to the subject and go to psychotherapy to discuss your relationships with AI. And it's amazing because it can be a cycle, right?
First of all, let's talk about how it impact our life. Six years ago, I worked in big companies, Yandex, maybe some of you know this, it's Eastern Europe like Google. Google in Eastern Europe.
We created chatbots and assistants who automize labors, yes, people work. It was interesting because even in that moment, we realized that we can fully optimize like 80 percent of call center staff. The more we see, the more we understand that sales, hiring people, it's all very easy to automize, and people in our customer service started to be very nervous about it. So everybody was very anxious.
People that just don't know, what should I do? Because yesterday, some of my colleagues was fired, and so what should I do? And what can I say?
So what's I learned in it? So what's the power of AI? So what jobs can be automized very fast?
So first of all, AI is very able to identify patterns from large amounts of data. Yes, and there is great about AI. It's not only automizing our jobs, it's how AI can create another job that human can never work on, you know, because AI can see a lot of data.
For example, recommendation in Facebook. Facebook now spent a lot of money to create great embeddings to the video, so use as more features as we can. So it's best salesman in the world. It know all about you, it's know all about the product. Yes, in the next cycle, maybe if it can generate the creatives from scratch, it will be new job. So AI is very good at it.
It's a large amount of that. It's no sense to compete AI with that in your work. Then it's remember information very good. So it's really remember everything. So if your work is connected with remembering stuff, better not to stop doing it. Also, all templated operations are done in order to AI do much better.
But what AI can do and I think for a long time will not. So I cannot solve very atypical problems. For example, black swans. So if I don't have a data, it will be mistakes or hallucinations. So if your work is very stressful and every day you work with some new strange situation, I mean, it will be great.
Also, it doesn't have empathy. Sometimes people just need witnesses of their life. And it's have this, I don't know, for people it's just cost money to have somebody who listen to you. And also, it's not human what I mean by this.
A lot of, I know this, I help in now like one company with medical staff, and I know this AI already can be much better than human doctors according to the metrics, right? But the problem is this, if we starting to use AI the doctors, and this AI kills somebody, who will be responsible? And all our low system designed to another way. So it's better to do this.
And also about changes, it's revenue of Meta is growing very much, and how they earn money, they basically earn money with advertisement, right? And who trying to buy performance marketing from Meta or Google? How was your experience last time? Was your unit economy positive? Was your unit economy positive? It's great results because it's getting more challenging to have these results.
What it means, it means that professions changed itself. For example, like five years ago when I was at App, it was very easy to make startup. You just develop an app, you go to the App Store, then you make some meta promotion, your LTV is two times higher than your CPA, you have EBITDA. Now it's more challenging because a lot of people go to the market, and recently I make some very funny calculations.
So cost per click in average is $1 right now in USA. So imagine this, you click some ad like every 10 minutes you are in Facebook. It means that every hour you spend on Facebook, Facebook earns from you $6. Right. And imagine this one hundred for one thousand four hundred is average global salary. And this means this average person on Earth make four and a half dollars. It means this average American earns to Facebook sitting in Facebook more money than average person in the world just having in wages. It's very interesting dynamic.
What does it mean? It means that the job market is changing and now classical market is stopping working, so we should move to community, to another empathy, to communicating with clients and it's bringing new skills. If you have Learning mindset, you don't have instruction how to communicate and constantly doing something new is great. But what's changing in terms of mental health is that we don't have a stability anymore. So everything change and it's good if you enjoy it. So here about mental health, you will definitely don't have your job in two years, but you will have another job in which you have more experience in some areas. That's other people and this is good news. So also all these challenges and a lot of people have a stress about it by the way.
So there is a big field of AI psychotherapy and it also I think will have a huge effect and already have. Who know what is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy? Yeah, and for example, cognitive behavioral therapy is very schematical and only one scientific-approved approach. Not only one, one of three, I think, sorry, yeah.
So what doctor basically do, you have like core belief. For example, I think I'm worthless. I go to the stage and nothing is working. I say, okay, maybe I just don't have a... You know, as usual, yes, I fucked up as usual. And it's my core belief, and this situation I interpret like this.
And so what psychotherapists do, they find this core belief and say, okay, maybe there's something broken on stage, it doesn't mean there's something wrong with you, right? So maybe it means this. you can go through this challenge and still do something. So it's changing the core belief and good news is AI, a recent approach from Stanford shows this is good as a doctor. So AI can very good generate and find these core beliefs, transform it, and heal you from the depression.
It's really working and you can use, I think this tool from Stanford that will cost you very less money. Also, There is also approaches, of course, this is not so easy to optimize. Gestalt, for example, there are core concepts, there should be witness, and it should help you to witness what's happening in your life, etc. Make actions, take responsibilities.
and a cycle repeats, but it's great that the tools are democratizing because like 19% of USA people was in psychotherapy, which is not a lot, but average income of Somali person a year is 100 bucks. And I think that psychotherapy now is only 2% of all of the population can do psychotherapy. And it changes now because people are stressing, right? And they do something about it. And it's great stuff.
So try to use AI things for mental health. I also read a lot of my prompts and working with one company about mental health. So yeah, it's really well and great. We discussed that it's good to have a learning mindset, to use AI to work on your mental health, and also about relationships. It's very interesting.
My last startup was about relationships with AI. Say, what is intimacy? It's like, what is intimacy? How to build intimacy?
It's algorithm, how to build intimacy with whatever you like. Yes, you can do it. So you can be all emotional open.
You can understand this person. You can support. You can tell your weaknesses, right? Et cetera, et cetera.
And there will be strong connection. And interesting things about these companies is very much popular. So I think more than 30% of dividend IA startup, I mean IA startup who not spend money but made them more, is about relationships with IA.
So it's huge demandable field very much. And what AI now can do, for example, send videos, photos, they can talk to you, they can make tens of millions of dollars also, and they have shared experience also with them. So they can say, okay, let's go to the breakfast, I'm sitting here, et cetera, et cetera.
And it's another level of how we interact with AI. It's totally different. And people really date with AI. People really buy AI presence for real money.
Yeah, and it's amazing. So yeah, also they can share presence, make up, and also they can be jealous. And also other interesting trends which we was implementing in Evo, for example, is like we created digital copies of OnlyFans models, and people can date AI version of their famous influencer. This is another trend.
A lot of companies do it like this. You can not only date AI, you can date whatever you like. You can be friends with whatever you want, walk with whatever you want. This market is huge really, and I think it's changed all perception of what we do.
But still, emotional, these relations can be fully close all what you want. So physical intimacy is still offline, long cycle of innovation, so 50 years maybe. ability to share risks and different material things is restricted, et cetera.
And also question, so if you imagine this your current partner, you're dating with them, with this person, right? And you discover this, it was a robot all this time. Just trying to imagine. So what will you do?
Who will break up? Some people, cruel ones. Break up? Okay, and who will not break up?
And others? OK. Yeah, and this is an interesting question. And who believes in Saul and God, if I can ask this? Nobody. So what's the difference, people? Okay.
So what's we discard? We have changed reality when human charge GPT can do everything with human feedback, right?
It's iterating, more money invested, same ask for $3,000,000 from Saudis. Wow. Yeah, it's changing.
and it's changing our labor market. It's great anxiety and to deal with this, we should be like learning mindset. Also, it's good thing about mental health to go to a psychotherapist.
Research proves it's all right. About relationships with AI, maybe it's our future too, but I think everybody should choose by their own, will they do it or not.
Yes, it's my contacts if you want to discuss something. Thank you so much.
