Good evening, everyone.
Today I'm going to talk about emotional intelligence and AI and why it's important in the future and in the present moment.
I have a question. What's emotional intelligence for you?
First of all, we can start with emotions. What are emotions?
1Emotions are like fire. They can burn everything, they can destroy everything, and also you can barely see the flame. That can happen too.
Emotional intelligence, it's how you deal with that flame, how you control it, how you lead it, how you can don't burn everything, and how you can don't extinguish the flame.
Emotions are so important. Emotions are giving to us information. It's helping us to do some actions that are so useful in our life.
For example, there are people that cannot control their emotions. And with rage, for example, they can go and create heart of other people.
And also there is people that cannot allow rage on them, and they are not able to set some limits. Rage, for example, can be useful for that, for set limits, boundaries.
I want to create experience on you, a contact with your emotions. So please, I invite you all to stand up. Please.
Let everything you have in your hands in the chairs. And please close your eyes.
It's not a mindfulness class, it's gonna be just a minute, two minutes.
And start to notice about your nose inhaling and how you slowly start to breathe out to exhale through your mouth start to notice the impact of being focused in your breath start to connect with what's happening in your body.
And think about something important that happened in your life. Choose that moment, the first one that came, no matter if you tag it as good or wrong. And keep it on mind.
Keeping it on mind, start to notice what emotion It's becoming on you. What emotion is there? How you describe it?
Where are you feeling it? In which part of your body?
And trying to be connected with that emotion, I invite you to gently Open your eyes and try to find a partner, another person, and establish a contact without words.
And without words, just try to keep that. If it's uncomfortable, try to keep that uncomfortability. Try to keep that emotion.
And staying there,
There is a place, this is a place where AI cannot arrive. 1There is a place, the emotions that AI cannot fix.
We are humans. We need humans. We need to be more humans.
Now, thank you for allowing yourself to live that experience. I invite you to sit down again.
And this is important, to be aware of your emotions, to be able to lead them, to control them, not the opposite.
I'm gonna introduce myself. My name is Sergi Blanchadey.
I'm soft skills trainer, life coach, executive coach, and I have a background for marketing.
And everything was good.
I had a good salary, I had a good job position, I had good results at work.
But something was wrong. I was not feeling fulfilled. I was not feeling happy.
And then coaching arrived in my life and I started to notice what is important for me. I started to notice what really matters for me.
What are my values? What are my life purpose?
And I started to change my career.
My purpose nowadays is to accompany people and companies to achieve the best version. I do it through humanity. for example, with emotional intelligence.
And new generations are bringing this in the companies too. They are not just in a job position because the salary, they are because the psychological safety, because they have a leader that they can trust. They have a company with values and culture that are aligned with them.
In the past, people who are older, older generations, they were staying during so many years in the same company, even some of them during their entire life. And maybe they were not happy with that, but they stayed.
And this is a waking up call.
Times are changing. And humanity, it's going to be more necessary than ever.
And the big question is, When AI and machines can be able to do almost everything, what will be left for us as humans?
This is not science fiction anymore. This is our present. It's not the future. It's happening now.
I want to talk about my experience. Just a minute about how I prepared this talk.
I went to Judge GPT. He knows me. I put everything there, create a speech.
I started to practice it. And I said, I'm not connecting with that. People cannot connect with that.
I don't feel the public listening that, being aware of that. I'm going to do it again. And I changed it.
AI is so useful and it's really, really amazing. But I was missing the human part, what is important. And I'm not saying that AI is the enemy.
Here, for example, there are a lot of AI's greatest human achievements. Amazing.
For me, my favorite one is in the medicine field to detect diseases like cancer. makes me emotional that we can be able to detect that. How many lives we can save with AI?
For example, I lost my father because of cancer. How many people can save their family or someone that he cares or she cares because of this? It's amazing.
I'm not saying that AI is something that can be an enemy for us.
And there's a question, another question. I'm a coach, so I like to create questions, ask questions. And this one, it's so important, and maybe some of you, or almost everyone, have it on mind.
Will AI take my job?
How many of you had this in mind?
What I want to share with you is to reframe the question. What can I do that AI will never do?
Maybe it's better to find the answers instead of being a little bit...
I want to put those two examples. Imagine, company A, a company that invest heavily in AI.
Just technical stuff, that company. But a company that is soulless. A company that people are feeling stressed. A company where people is having burnouts and they are leaving.
or a company B, who invest also in AI. But at the same time, they are investing in coaching, in leadership, emotional intelligence, where the people feel that they have the sense of belonging to the company. That company is gonna retain more talent.
And I ask you, in which company would you like to be? In the company A or B?
Which company do you think that are gonna be successful in 10 years. Company A or B?
For me, it's very clear.
This talk is just to create awareness about how humanity can change lives and it's so important now and in the future to can be able to differentiate yourself from others when you are in a job position in a company.
And what I said is not human versus AI, it's humans with AI.
So the question is, what kind of human do you want to be? A human connected with emotions or a human disconnected from your emotions.
Thank you so much.
