From Paper Plans to Live City Maps

It's lovely to see all of you tonight. I really do appreciate your presence. So all of you, thank you so much.

Loki: Safer Roads and Accessible Cities

We are Loki. We are a company that specializes in offering safe roads and more accessible cities with artificial intelligence and space tech.

It's on. Okay.

Flagship Product: Asphalt to Securo

In the company, we have a bunch of products that we offer for our clients. Today, we're going to focus on more like the flagship products. The first one is a product called Asphalt to Securo. But before I present any software to you, I would like to show you what the customers and the municipalities actually receive.

Actionable Road-Defect Reports

This is what the municipality receives from us. This is the report. One defect.

On the left, the first page, we can see the photograph and it carries the timestamp, the coordinates built inside the image. and beneath that you can see exactly where it sits in the map then also on the right page 2 you can see the details like what's the defect what it is like the severity also the surface area road name nearest address coordinates and

least but not least the the QR code the crew can scan this QR code and their phone opens the exact point in Google Maps so you don't need to wander around the city looking for a hole or something like that so this is the core of the product everything else built is feeding and producing this at the scale of a

whole city so this is what the vehicle delivers this is like well while driving normally on the road as we can see also the moment at the top you can see the moment of the of the defect when it was recorded also the location and at the bottom you see this red block this is actually we calculate the size of the defect we get like also the municipalities get to decide what to do everything else based next we can we will present this based on this

From Vehicle Detection to Digital Mapping

image so this is a demo of the actual product so the clients can log in with their credentials then you get to select the campaign this was a screen recorded so then you don't see the drop -down menu but there's a drop -down menu here you can see all that the campaigns the customer have so in this case we

selected body money cheap you know so when you open the map you can see all the defect glasses that we identified from the car low severity potholes high severity cracks multi cracks vertical signs you can navigate through the app

cracks and multi cracks they have different like layers so the cracks and multi cracks are not single point on the road so they have they are being shown at the segment in this case this is multi cracks also crosswalks you can get to see crosswalks

everything is based on the first image you saw for h1 defect each defect has the same image and you can interact with with the image you can click on it so once you click you can see the the image of the defect itself and a pop -up that you can change the the status you can repair and i want to reset and also you can remove it after the work is done

Supporting Maintenance and Long-Term Planning

and finally the first thing I presented this is the PDF report for each one defect so what the municipality gets from all of this so the surface damage per road in centimeters used for all the calls for works also a photograph and address and a QR code per defect to avoid manual searching as we said before

the engineers also they can confirm it looking at the photograph because this is what the public body has to defend and an annual survey because they build a track record over the years so they can get to do comparisons to what see what was missed what was repaired and what is there the next product I will

Digital Traffic Asset Inventory in Lviv

leave the floor for my colleague okay so I will talk about a project that we are working right now it is with the city of Lviv Ukraine with a we are doing the digital inventory of the traffic signals and then with our system the idea is to do the detection classification and geospatial mapping of road assets.

The Challenge of Paper-Based Traffic Plans

Take a look at this, it is a traffic plan from LBIF. In this you can spot all signs, traffic lights and crosswalks.

These documents are important because they They have the official information, as you can see there, and also the approvals from the responsible people.

But each city has different, many documents of this, but all of them mostly are like this. The document are scanned, maybe all drawings, or even pictures of paper document.

So, if a technician needs to do a traffic layout of an entire street or even a zone, they need to first look for all the documents that are part of this street, then organise them and finally try to figure out how they connect.

And if the city maybe has a question like how many stop signs are on this street and are they actually there? Nobody can answer this question without telling someone to go there and verify it.

A Live Map of Official Road Assets

We solved this problem with the live map. In this each sign and traffic light is a georeference point and you can see all the information about the document, the name, the code and the name of the Ukrainian standard, this Ukrainian standard that was used, the status of the sign like it was planned or is if it is installed or to remove also you can see all the people that were involved in this integration of this official document the name of the project the year and also the important thing is that you can also see the approvals from the responsible authorities.

An important thing that I want to say is that here you can also see the official document where all was taken from.

This was just not for one street, we did this for 147 documents that were processed, more than 2 ,000 signs and around 150 traffic lights, all brought together on a single map.

Then

Comparing Planned Assets with Street Reality

Then, when the city has this map, they now know what is supposed to be in the street and the next step is to know what is actually there. For this, we use our own system to the detection and classification of these wrong signs and with this the city can actually know what are the gaps between this information, maybe maybe as an example a signal that was planned but never installed.

The Lviv inventory is completed and reviewed. It was made using the Ukrainian standard, so it can be used for different cities of Ukraine or if you want to use it in another country, it is possible because it's just necessary to change the catalogue signs of this country, not starting from the beginning.

From Scattered Documents to Safer Maintenance

So we started from scattered traffic plans and we ended with a digital map that the city actually can use, making road maintenance faster, easier and safer.

Thank you.
