Beating the Lotto, with AI by Jason Holloway
Every UK Lotto combination has the same odds of winning. Or do they? This is an interactive demo to illustrate how we can use AI to research almost any topic and use it to question and test our assumptions. The result in this case is three insights at once: a tour of the behavioural biases that quietly shape how Lotto players pick numbers, an empirical test of AI-derived number-picking strategies against over 1,000 real UK draws from 2016 to 2025, and a surprise meta-reveal at the end. The session is built around three live AI demos that build on each other: research, analysis, and a final twist that lands the real point - AI as an end-to-end analytical partner that sharpens your judgement, knowledge and communications. Spoiler alert: you can't change the odds of winning the Lotto. But you can change the odds of how many others you'll have to share the winnings with. Bring scepticism, a blank Lotto slip and a pen.
