Mindstone Leeds September AI Meetup

Join UKAI and Mindstone for an evening of hands-on AI discovery.

This event features two live demonstrations led by AI experts who walk you through real AI-powered tools in real time. No slides, no theory, just practical AI in action. It's the kind of session that genuinely surprises people and leaves them thinking differently about what's possible. We'll round off the presentations with a concise talk on how to start applying AI meaningfully inside your organisation.

What makes these evenings special is the room itself. From founders building AI-powered products to senior leaders navigating adoption, and from seasoned engineers to those just getting started, everyone brings something different and everyone leaves with something new. We'll have a brilliant mix of local businesses all figuring out the future of AI together.

Then to finish the evening, we open up the floor for networking over pizza and beers. This is where the real conversations happen: swap ideas, share experiences, and connect with people who are thinking about AI just as seriously as you are. Whether you leave with a new contact, a new perspective, or just a better sense of where things are heading, it's an evening well spent.

Use AI Like a Colleague, Not Google by Tega Oghoro
Most people use AI like a search engine, and get search-engine results. In this live demo I'll show the one shift that changes that: briefing AI the way you'd brief a smart new hire. You'll see a real before-and-after, then leave with three moves you can use straight away — to sharpen your work, learn faster, and build something on the side. Practical, honest, and immediately usable.

Pen, paper and a transcript: how we actually use AI with clients by Shaun Walsh
The Opportunity Explorer is how Perform Partners helps leaders work out what's really going on before they commit to a plan. The write-up used to take days. Now it takes minutes. I'll show how. The prompts, the output, and how each round of output has changed the way we run the conversation itself. The interesting part happens before any of that. We sit in a room with people, with pen and paper, and have a proper conversation. We record it, run the transcript, and use it to help shape the recommendations. Then we put human friction back into the output. What doesn't fit gets challenged, and what's left is shaped by people who've done the work. Recommendations informed by AI. Delivered through experience.

Fantasy verse reality - Unique adoption in the support/care sector by Andy Barlow
What started as a fantasy 15 years ago trying to be everywhere at once has now appeared as a potential reality with AI and is slowly moving back to a fantasy as we are developing creating and understanding and the goal posts widen him and the finish line appears to be moving further away so even though we’re taking multiple steps forwards, the feeling is as if we are going backwards I know we’re not as the finish line was always further away. What we recognise more of now is that we have multiple layers of complexity around data protection and the storage of.
