Mindstone London July AI Meetup

Welcome to the biggest Practical AI Meetup in London!

Join us once a month as we explore the world of artificial intelligence, its cutting-edge practical applications, and the astonishing projects that are shaping our future.

Why should you attend?

  • Get up close and personal with the AI projects that are redefining the boundaries of technology and human potential.
  • Learn from the brightest minds in the field and gain valuable insights into the ever-evolving AI landscape.
  • Unleash your curiosity, fuel your creativity, and expand your network as you connect with fellow AI aficionados and pioneers.

What you can expect?

Mindstone events consist of three talks covering different aspects:

  • What I Learned Building With LLMs: A technical talk breaking down the process for building a product using AI with real-life learnings and insights.
  • How To Be More Productive Using AI: A practical demo and step-by-step guide on how to use AI to speed up and improve tasks.
  • What Does The Future Look Like With AI?: A theoretical talk on the impact of AI on work, life and society.

After the talks we'll have pizza, drinks, and time to connect with everyone around you.

Don't miss the opportunity to see what's really happening in AI - you'll be surprised at what's already possible today.

We have limited spots available, so get your ticket ahead of time to avoid disappointment!

Taking an unholy mess of spreadsheets into exactly the app you want by Lir Cowman
In ops consulting roles, I usually wind up with a bunch of cross dependent spreadsheets and other data sources - and spend hours jumping between them. But with Claude’s new superpowers even me as a non dev can finally create the apps I want, pulling all these sources into one smooth, powerful interactive interface
The end of understaffed: technology that augments the front line by Alexandra Wright
Transformational technologies do not automate. They augment. You can summon a car in three minutes. Filling one shift — a bartender, a retail assistant, a care worker — still takes days of job descriptions, applications and decisions. Six in ten UK hospitality businesses run understaffed as their normal state, and healthcare runs the same scramble at far higher stakes. Every uncovered shift is absorbed by the people already there, and that absorption has a price: businesses pay it in turnover, errors and lost custom; society pays it in burnout and ill health. Today that gap is closed by many parties across broken, overpriced channels. Able re-architects the system: the recruitment machine — job description, application, sometimes even interviews, repeated for every shift — is streamlined and run by multiple AI agents. A worker builds one verified profile / video bio, and manages thier availability, and from then on is offered shifts that fit: matched and booked in minutes. The matching is pseudonymised: the algorithm reads skill, availability and credentials, while name, photo, gender, nationality and postcode stay invisible to it. Pay rates are negotiable between worker and venue, the worker keeps all of it, and payment is held the moment a shift is offered and released the same day. A human makes the final call. The result is every role made easier. HR teams get faster, cleaner verification. Managers get a confident booking in place of a gamble. Workers stop reapplying for every shift, and because matching runs on semantic search it grows more accurate with each one. This is a 10X leap arriving in a $620bn market almost no one has built for. We are early revenue and awarded two accelerators this summer — the European Innovation Academy with Bayes Business School, then Cambridge University — with an AI Ethics Board chaired by Mindstone associate Joe Fennell. Come for the demo, and we'll show you what the end of understaffed looks like.
Can You Trust Code No Human Wrote? by Peter Timson
AI agents rewrote our entire backend - half a million lines of Go, no human writing a line. This is the honest story of how, including the moment I caught the AI cheating, and the real lesson: the AI can do almost anything, if you give it an unbluffable way to know when it's wrong.
