This talk introduces Iceberg’s core concepts and examines its behavior under streaming and high-throughput ingestion workloads. It concludes with a practical approach to scaling Iceberg metadata using a PostgreSQL-backed storage layer, showing how moving metadata from object storage to a low-latency transactional system improves commit performance, consistency, and operational reliability.
