As agentic AI systems evolve toward greater autonomy, the challenge of maintaining safety, alignment, and ethical operation becomes increasingly intense. This work introduces AI CONNECTORS (Agentic Intelligence Collaborative Orchestrators, Navigators, and Nexus for Ethical Control, Training, Oversight, and Responsible deployment), a novel professional role that positions domain experts as the bridge between technical AI capabilities and domain-specific knowledge. Through, Human-AI Collaborative Orchestration (HAICO) framework, AI CONNECTORS ensure safe, robust, and aligned agentic systems via a tiered autonomy model with explicit handoff protocols, comprehensive evaluation frameworks, and continuous learning mechanisms. Our framework addresses the critical gap between fully autonomous AI agents and traditional human-in-the-loop systems by defining structured collaboration zones where human expertise and AI capabilities synergistically enhance system performance while maintaining safety guarantees. The framework encompasses:- (1) a taxonomy of autonomy levels with defined handoff triggers, (2) the AI CONNECTOR role profile and competency requirements, (3) systematic workflow curation methodologies, (4) multi-dimensional testing and evaluation protocols, (5) adaptive learning and training pipelines, and (6) KPI alignment mechanisms that balance performance with safety and ethical considerations. Empirical validation across three agentic AI domains demonstrates that AI CONNECTORS within the HAICO framework reduce critical errors by 87.3% while maintaining 92.1% of autonomous efficiency, establishing a practical pathway toward trustworthy agentic AI deployment.
