My thesis that I wanted to talk to is in times of AI, my network, your network is the most precious thing and will get more precious because access is what really is valuable now.
I think especially in software we can do whatever but can we sell it? Can we get the funds and actually to run this and bring it to the people.
I gave mine a memory is the pitch for Ristretto which is basically a conversational application that on the iPhone with all the local AI models transcribes your conversation, embeds the conversation, picks up any to do's that you have or your partner has and lets you follow up
on them so yeah at the end you go to a meetup and or a virtual meetup and in a very very short 15 minutes you get to know one new person at minimum per week and that that person yeah you will never forget so it will build each conversation will build up on itself and you will have this network of yeah like like a neural network, if you want to call it, of connections and access.
And I'm Julian, I didn't say that, the pitch was a bit different, the demo was a bit different, but I said I cut it short.
I run Gold Coast Labs, it's an agency, I'm building Restretto with a friend as a side project because I want to network more and I want to concentrate more on networking, less on taking notes and keeping all of that, not in my head, but somewhere, fully automatically. automatically.
And I came to do that because I watched WWDC from Apple this year and they were saying, hey, actually you have all these powerful devices and we give you the platform as a developer to do whatever with it. So they released the foundation models.
So now without any subscription, just with the expensive Apple device that you bought, you have the chance to do quite a lot locally with AI transcribing, processing, searching, whatever, obviously in a not GPT astra 6 way of intelligence but up to there just on your phone and
so yeah like applications like this where you process private personal data locally I think they will boom a lot because that's what it's made for but
still now I want to get a bit more practical because they're practical and I want to know how are you guys managing having a lot of calls I guess you're all kind of entrepreneurial but how do you keep up with all the information are you taking manual notes all right or something like granola or some meeting
transcription okay that's more what are you doing then with the information are you going back to granola searching it or do you use some kind of automated processing your GPT plant agent to extract it and and push you to it
something like that you do it okay yeah so I do the same so I started to go more into like instead of get pushing data into the model trying it to pull me I guess it's the usual like the normal way of processing and so I can recommend a
text tag I don't have this light but for me granola is the way to go because the free version covers quite a lot if you don't care about privacy and I have it kind of like everywhere in my perspective for now outside of client calls that's fine
and then use whatever kind of harness agent you like i personally like open ai at the moment best to like kind of have your scheduled tasks to go back into granola what did i talk about today what was important what are my tasks that i need to do and kind of just like alert me on
because i let chgbt roam quite freely on my computer and on my devices like yeah you did this but you didn't do that you send that email you didn't like give this information and then i can just have like a to -do list in the next morning that is quite valuable for me
and that's how i kind of curate also my network because then i can say okay a good network is only as good as i can give and if i go to a meetup i talk to you i want to connect you to somebody and I forget to do it then it's kind of like on me that nothing comes back and
yeah I think I'll I'll stop here but I just want to say transcribe whatever you do and like let it like really use it in a in a pool basis like system think about all the information that you can collect in your day in your work if you can and then kind of like process it with whatever tool you allow to use yeah Yeah, to get AI to pull you more and not push. I think I'll leave it at that today.
Interesting, hold on. It's free, like more or less, like freestyle. Were you gonna show something or something? Yeah, I mean, I was. Like I said, at the point, you know. You show how it works, how it looks on your end. Yeah, we can do that.
It's like, it's as if you're watching this trailer of a movie. The movie's right there. I saw the cat, but then you're like, no, we're not gonna show you the movie,
Yeah, I just need to extend my window, so I'm asking ChatGPT to do something now, because
the room I sign up to, so the strategy is you sign up, you say who you are, you set your dates in the week where you want to talk to somebody, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and then you get matched with people that have time during that hours.
Like friends? No, it's like random people in the network that kind of match your interest, so the bigger the network the more valuable the network because in best case you meet at least one new person
every week and you skip all the small talk because you can have like a 30 seconds who i am kind of speech message and like you can jump in and say hey you can ask me about me for example how do i use cloud and we can start diving in and like exchanging ideas but it's 15 minutes so i need
to open the window again so it's doing it again i was extending it bit by bit but we ran over
so I planned this and the thing is so if you use that app all the calls will be transcribed just not in the cloud but locally on Apple devices so it's on your own device now we have refresh
Now I can see that. Aha! So we can join here.
I just need to make sure there's no sound. There is no sound. Wonderful. And then I can refresh here if I can.
So this is still a prototype, but we got it there. All right. There I am.
I cannot make it. Okay. So in my case, I have something on here. I will put it here as well.
this is like the remembering kind of tab, okay so here it's remembering on my phone and then we talk, we exchange ideas, 15 minutes wonderful and I will tell you okay I will send you a PDF about local AI on Apple devices and that's fine so then I say okay let's hang up, we have done this, it's fine so good and then on
on my phone, I have a transcript segment. Basically, you can not see it now because it's on the phone. But theoretically, you have a transcript, and you have a task that will tell you, you need to send me a PDF, and it will come up. I think that's kind of clear.
And the idea is, as a side project, just to get as many people as possible to join the network and kind of like profit from local AI and transcription and growing your
network bit by bit so this is the kind of like pipeline we transcribe it we save it we extract it we search it so we embed basically we embed the the talk right so we can search it I can see all the content around the task and so on
and then obviously you review if the suggestion is good or not, that's up to you. You can also just accept everything.
Yeah and just there's the waitlist if you want to come up we are still doing that as a side project so it will take some time until it's live but I really
want to use this as a chance to get into what can a local AI model on the iPhone especially do. So obviously on the Mac I can run kind of everything but I like to test out the foundational models more so we can yeah kind of like have this idea of what is possible really just on your phone.
I dream about sitting in Italy not having the cloud agent do the stuff but really just do everything on my iPhone.
Yeah so if you want to if you sign up I was thinking about I can write some thoughts on how local ai is supposed to work or is working on apple devices so i will send that back to you and yeah hopefully you join a lot of conversations thank you
