Mindstone Zurich September AI Meetup
Welcome to the biggest Practical AI Meetup in Zurich!
Join us once a month as we explore the world of artificial intelligence, its cutting-edge practical applications, and the astonishing projects that are shaping our future.
Why should you attend?
- Get up close and personal with the AI projects that are redefining the boundaries of technology and human potential.
- Learn from the brightest minds in the field and gain valuable insights into the ever-evolving AI landscape.
- Unleash your curiosity, fuel your creativity, and expand your network as you connect with fellow AI aficionados and pioneers.
What you can expect?
Mindstone events consist of three talks covering different aspects:
- What I Learned Building With LLMs: A technical talk breaking down the process for building a product using AI with real-life learnings and insights.
- How To Be More Productive Using AI: A practical demo and step-by-step guide on how to use AI to speed up and improve tasks.
- What Does The Future Look Like With AI?: A theoretical talk on the impact of AI on work, life and society.
After the talks we'll have pizza, drinks, and time to connect with everyone around you.
Don't miss the opportunity to see what's really happening in AI - you'll be surprised at what's already possible today.
We have limited spots available, so get your ticket ahead of time to avoid disappointment!

AI Is Leaving the Screen: What 10 Car Rides with Zurich's Builders Teach Us by Justinas Miseikis
AI is moving off our screens and into the physical world: care homes, factories, industrial sites. What changes when it does? For TechDrive Zürich, I interviewed ten people building Zurich's tech scene, from CERN and Sony AI to ANYbotics, ZHAW and Venturelab, during rides through the city. From those conversations I share one thesis and three trends: AI gets a body, AI gets smaller and leaner, and trust becomes the hard part. Each trend comes with a real example from the rides and a source. We then look at four possible futures for physical AI, and I close with three things builders and operators can do on Monday. I'll also be open about the AI tools I use to run the show as a one-person team, and where they still get things wrong.
View recordingThinking in Agents by Thomas Sievering
A look at how I work with AI agents beyond Claude Code. I’ll break down models, tools, and context windows, then show how I give an agent the ability to inspect real work, act on it, and check the result.
View recordingA Second Brain for Your Network: On-Device AI That Remembers Every Coffee by Julian Pechler
In AI times, your network is the last real moat. So I gave mine a memory. Live demo of Ristretto: a pilot that pairs members for one short video or phone coffee per week. The mobile app transcribes every call locally, extracts what matters, and builds a private knowledge graph of everyone you meet. Who they are, what they need, how you can help. Fully on device. Nothing ever touches a server. Step by step demo through the on-device pipeline (local speech-to-text, extraction, embeddings, encrypted vault) and why local inference makes this product possible at all: nobody lets AI listen to their conversations unless the data provably stays theirs. Leave with a blueprint for on-device AI and maybe a coffee match from this room.
